Dr. Rola Ahmad Alzir is Senior Specialist Neonatologist at Al Jalila Children’s and trained in Neonatology/Perinatology through a fellowship at Corniche Hospital Abu Dhabi from 2013 to 2015.
Dr. Rola graduated from DMCG 2003 – Dubai, UAE. After an internship at the Jordan Islamic Hospital, Amman, from 2002 to 2004, she had a transitional year at the Paediatric Oncology Department at the King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC) from 2005 to 2006. She joined the Dubai Residency Training Programme (DRTP) 2006-2010 and has attained the Arab Board Certificate of Paediatrics.
Dr. Rola worked at the Ministry of Health (MOH) /Al-Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah and Zahra hospital, Sharjah, before joining a fellowship in neonatology. She has one publication and has attended PAS meetings on a yearly basis . She also runs hospital-based ventilation workshops. Her expertise includes management of cases of Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), and Therapeutic Hypothermia (TH), Neonatal Cranial Ultrasonography and Functional ECHO. She is also an expert in different neonatal ventilation modes.
